Once again IAPP has scheduled
an exciting workshop in the lovely rustic village of
Peyresq in southern France.
We held a workshop there in
1999 and it was greatly enjoyed by those who attended. This encouraged
us to return from May 10 thru May 14, 2008. Even
considering the somewhat diminished value of the US
dollar abroad, we believe that we organized a very
reasonably priced program.
The registration fee will be €50 (€35
for IAPP members). This is approximately $75
and $52 respectively at present exchange rates. Please
note that these fees will only be accepted as Euros,
not dollars. Lodging is additional cost, and must be
taken at the workshop site.
Several on-site lodging choices are available:
School room dormitory bed (8 to 12 persons to the room): €38
per day.
A room for 2 persons: €55 per person/per day
A single room for one person only: €65 per day
Registration and lodging includes attendance at all
the meetings and presentations, 3 meals per day, with
2 snacks and a banquet on the final evening.
We plan one day exclusively
for shooting. We
are still investigating possible locations. The
costs for transportation and food on this day is NOT
included in the registration fee and will thus, be
the responsibility of each individual. We expect
to car pool if we have a sufficient number of cars. Due
to the small size of this village, not more than 45
to 50 persons can be accommodated. So make your
reservations as quickly as possible.
If you are flying direct,
plan to land at Nice Côte
d’Azur Airport. It is best to rent a car
and drive to Peyresq (approximately 1 hour travel). We
will help to coordinate car pools if you do not rent
a car. We can arrange for a bus to return to
the airport after the breakfast on May 14 if we have
enough people. We will coordinate this on the
IAPP website, www.panoramicassociation.org.
Regardless of when you arrive
in France, please plan to arrive in Peyresq on May
10. We will have
a dinner included that evening. The workshop
program will conclude after breakfast on May 14.
We expect to have a number
of interesting companies participating. These include Seitz Roundshot
who plans to bring their new digital panoramic cameras
which we would be able to use while on our day-trip. We
are also working to get the makers of printers/scanners
and stitching software to attend and teach you some
new techniques and how to streamline your workflow.
